ALTA INDUSTRIES began operating in 1988 after taking over the production and Know-How of a company specialized in the construction of wound magnetic components for the military industry.

Later, after  extending  the activity to  the aircraft,  electro-medical  and railway industries, the  organization  was  also  expanded to handle a large  number of clients.

The company  operates in respect  of a Quality Assurance Manual drawn up with the reference to the ISO  9001 : 2000 standards and the relative certification has been given to the company in December 2002 .    Moreover, in December 1998 we have acquired from Galileo Avionica the qualification to produce magnetic components for aereospace usage.

Alta Industries in the last few years have developed a new products line, with their own design, aiming to get DC solenoids.

The solenoids line covers a wide range of applications: automotive, aeronautic, avionic, military, food and textile industry.

The company  has given a lot of care in  developing the  solenoid  model

DB 9802 as a brake for elevater winches, obtaining a notable result regarding safety and noise reduction, with minimum cost.

Solenoids designer team uses computerized simulator tools to verify torque, temperature and recovery time in order to realize specific custom design, according to normative VDE 580.

The Technical Office avails itself of engineers  with decades  of specific experience in  the sector and  accurate knowledge of the typical  problems of professional industry.

Particular care is given to the  treatment department to enable it to perform coating and  filling operations even under a vacuum for high voltage components.

The best references are  given by the clients, who have approved the establishment  for the production of wound components, and among these  are almost all  the companies  operating in the military, railway, aerospace and energy industries.   Exactly in relation to this last sector (energy) we have received the certification "free pass" from Nuovo Pignone Firenze in November 1996.

In the last years ALTA industries, has expanded its own activity also in sectors different from magnetic components, moving towards  production of assembly-line of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic systems and/or  sub-systems, in the military, railway and space field; it is really  in this way that  ALTA  is going to be more and more specialized.

For this purpose a clean room of  40 sqm in class 100 has been built .

As regards quality, the company avails itself of the experience gained in the electro-technical and electronic  measurement  laboratories of the department of the Electronic Engineering at the University of Florence and , particularly, can carry out the following tests:

                            1)  Certification of conformity and correspondence  with

CEI,  IEC,  UL,  VDE  standards as well as  with  the par-

ticular  prescription of  the purchase  specifications of

producers of electric, electromechanical and electronic

                                 equipments.

                            2)  Execution of special tests  such  as climatic test  (includ-

ing thermal shock),  mechanical  tests  (vibration and im-

pact) test for determination and verification of reliability

                                 (theoretical and practical MTBF).

                            3)  High Voltage Tests (on all models)

                                 Reference standard CEI144-5 and 85. EN60204 (IEC204/1)

                                 Tests of the following types:

                                               a) Tests with continous voltage max 12Kv

                                               b) Tests with alternate voltage max 30Kv

                                               c) Corona measurement
